Our Dental Technology for Customized Treatment Plans in North Shores and Wyoming, MI

Smiling Dental Implant Patient

At SplenDent Implant Center, in North Shores and Wyoming, Michigan, we’re dedicated to restoring the smiles of those suffering from oral health problems and damaged teeth. We offer the most efficient and affordable treatment options, so you can enjoy life with self-confidence, a beautiful new smile, and excellent oral health. When you come to our practice, you’ll be treated with the highest standard of care, starting with an examination using the latest dental technology to identify your specific oral health issues. This begins the process of creating a customized treatment plan. We use 3D imaging and other oral radiology techniques to increase the speed and accuracy of your diagnosis, which allows us to restore your smile quickly.

Orthopantomography (Panoramic X-Rays)

Orthopantomography is simply a panoramic x-ray. You may have encountered this during regular visits to your dentist. This standard dental technology is fundamental to patient diagnosis, as it can be used to evaluate missing teeth and/or lack of teeth, dental eruption level, bone fractures, and the position of third molars. During this part of your examination, you’ll be asked to stay completely stationary while the x-ray machine rotates around you. This ensures a clear image, and it only takes a few seconds.

Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CT) Scans

With a dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) scan, we can get a 3D image of your teeth, nerves, soft tissue, and bones. Dental cone beam CT scans provide us with high-quality images that help us identify bone volume and plan the most suitable areas for dental implants. These scans can also help us observe fractures and lesions and assist in planning for tooth extraction. Having a CT scan is painless and non-invasive. As is the case with all radiological testing, it’s important for women who think they may be pregnant to inform their oral surgeon or dentist. The scan will take between 10 and 40 seconds to complete, depending on whether you need a full mouth scan or a partial scan. There’s no special preparation for having a CT scan beyond removing any metal, such as watches or jewelry that may interfere with the scanner.
